Our 2020 Curriculum Picks!

We often get asked what curriculum we are loving right now! We'll go ahead and take you through each child and then what studies we do as a family!

Reagan (3 years old- "loose" Preschool)

We have used "A Year Of Skillfully Playing" with all of our children when they each were around 3-4 years of age. Reagan does go to a 2 day "mom's day out" program at a local church, so we weave this in and out the rest of the week.

What we love the most is that it is Nature based. We saw the power of incorporating Nature School into our children's lives in their early years and this program weaves that perfectly in. Read an article about the Nature School revolution in Germany by clicking here.

For us, the organization is key. There is a theme for each month, a book list for the month, and a shopping list for any and all supplies you may need. So it's super simple. It's also very FLEXIBLE. Some months we check off every box- other times we dabble in the theme.

When it comes to preschoolers, remember that school is everywhere- make sure you are asking your child critical thinking questions. For example, when we collect eggs from our chickens we may ask her questions like:

  • How many chickens are brown?

  • What do the eggs feel like?

  • What happens when we give the chickens food?

  • Why is it important that they have water?

  • What does the chicken feel like?

  • Why do chicken's have claws?

Questions will always spark curiosity and we are trying to raise curious kids!

Other Preschool Resources we personally have and LOVE:

Preschool Prep program (This DVD series was foundational for our other kids reading by 4. I didn't mention it in the video, but often I'll play this DVD for Reagan when I'm working with the other kids.) If I've been to your baby shower- I most likely bought you this!
